Dr. Natalia Hassan, Alternate Director of N2BP, participated in the Nanotechnology Conference – Sonora 2024, an activity that took place from October 29 to November 1 in the state of Sonora, Mexico.
At that event, he gave a talk entitled “The Power of Microfluidics for the Future of Health,” which explores the field of microfluidics and its impact on biomedical applications.
Microfluidics is a technology that allows fluids to be manipulated through tiny channels, which has transformed various fields of science and medicine. It involves the manipulation of fluids at a microscale, with applications in the manufacture of devices for the analysis of biological samples, the study of molecular interactions, the simulation of organs and the development of biosensors.
Dr. Natalia Hassan’s talk highlighted how microfluidic devices enable research into complex diseases such as cancer, facilitating studies on cell proliferation, protein corona formation, and nanoparticle-based therapies (such as gold and magneto-plasmonic nanoparticles) that are used in the treatment of cancers and neurodegenerative diseases.
We congratulate our Alternate Director and value the relevance of her work!
